Clarence Daniel "Dan" Geese
Clarence Daniel “Dan” Geese, 91, of Leesburg died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at the Adena Medical Center in Greenfield.
He was born April 2, 1921 in Columbus, the son of the late Clarence Daniel and Ivy Grace Weaver Geese.
Mr. Geese had been a civilian computer analyst for the Department of Defense in Columbus for over 20 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He had retired as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, was a life member of VFW Post 9473 in Reynoldsburg, F&AM Lodge #311 of Plain City, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Highland County Historical Society, Highland County Republican Club, National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees, the Old North High Club in Columbus.
He was a 1939 graduate of North High School and a 1955 graduate of The Ohio State University.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Marilyn Milner Geese; one son, Daniel A. (Joann) Geese Sr., of Leesburg; two grandchildren, Daniel A. (Betty) Geese Jr. and Jason C. Geese; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Geese of Hilliard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Luella Gene McKinley and Dorothy Lou Phillips; and one brother, John William Geese.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Leesburg Friends Church. Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Hardin’s Creek Cemetery at Bridges. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Leesburg Friends Church.
