Clara Miller, 88, of Winchester, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in Winchester on Nov. 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Henry T. and Clarinda (Wintersteen) Dixon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles E. Miller, who passed away in 1993; son, Gary Miller; three brothers, Charles R. Dixon, Henry P. Dixon, and Norval R. Dixon; and one sister, Mary Donnabelle Dickson.

She was a member of Winchester Presbyterian Church, Women's American Legion Auxiliary, Scattered Home Makers, a former writer for Winchester News, and she was in the Bowling League in the 1970s.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith Ann Taylor of Iowa and Norma Cheek of Winchester; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at Winchester United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Waugh and David Wirth officiating.
