Clara L. Caldwell, 87, of Washington C.H., formerly of South Salem, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at Court House Manor in Washington C.H.

She was born Dec. 30, 1923 in Ross County, the daughter of Lee R. and Rachel (Scott) Shuster.

She was a homemaker and was employed by Ferno-Washington, where she was in the sales department for 10 years. She was a member of South Salem Presbyterian Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a 1941 graduate of Frankfort High School.

She is survived by one sister, Bessie G. Lucas of Washington C.H.; one sister-in-law, Ann Shuster of South Salem; 10 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Caldwell, on Feb. 10, 1989; two brothers, Howard "Shorty" and Scott M. Shuster; one brother-in-law, David H. Lucas; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Shuster.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Jim Kiger officiating. Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Salem Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 2, South Salem, Ohio 45681.
