Clara Francis Scott, 73, of Asheville, N.C., formerly of Hillsboro died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek in Arden.

She was born March 5, 1939 in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late Frank and Dee Porter McDaniels. Mrs. Scott had retired as a cardiac technician.

She was a member of the Cane Run Baptist Church in Lexington, Ky.

She is survived by four daughters, Carla (Gerald) Morgan of Hillsboro, Debra (Harry) Drawdy of Hillsboro, Dawna Davis of Ashville, North Carolina, Carolyn Beattie of Plano, Texas, one step-son, Jeff Scott of Owenton, Ky., 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Phil (Betty) McDaniels of Hillsboro, Mike (Mary Jane) Boatman of North Port, Fla., Lon (Frances) Boatman of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Frankie (Johnnie Ann) McDaniels of Brooksville, Fla.; one sister, Mary Ann (James) Rose of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scott; one daughter, Patricia Dawn Powell; two brothers, Tom and Charles Boatman; two sisters, Thelma Day and Emily Gilbert; and a son-in-law, Mark Davis.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Pastor Danny Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery near Taylorsville. Friends may call on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
