Christy Payne, 54, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born Dec. 19, 1957 in Sabina, the daughter of Larry and Judith (Stodgel) Newland.

She was a home health caregiver and a former employee of ABX Air. She was a 1976 graduate of Washington C.H. High School.

She is survived by one son, Mark (Sarah) Payne of Hillsboro; one daughter, Teffany Lynn Payne of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Caleb, Shyaine and Khadijah Payne and Tyler Grisham; father, Larry Newland of Sabina; mother Judith (Stodgel) Vansickle Lopez of Naples, Fla.; four brothers, Larry “Joe” Stodgel of North Carolina, Nicholas King of Washington C.H., Anthony Newland of Columbus and Eddie Payne; five sisters, Angela Lewis of Trotwood, Tonita Hundley of Naples, Fla. and Jeanna Lynn Mitchell, Amber Mitchell and Brittany Sloan, all of Sabina; many nieces and nephews; two great-nieces, JoeDee and Brooklynn; friends; and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Edward “Ponch” Steward.

Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service Saturday.
