Cheri Kim Brofft, 53, of Middleburg, Fla., formerly of Hillsboro died Monday, April 16, 2012  at the Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Fla. 

She was born Dec. 28, 1958 in Wilmington, daughter of Kelley Dean Ferguson  and Janice Ross Ferguson.

Cheri worked for Clay County Schools for 21 years and was a 1977 graduate of Hillsboro High School.

Before moving to Florida Cherie was involved in 4-H, Junior Leaders, was baptized at Restoration Acres, and had worked at Great Scott.

Surviving are husband, Montie Clarence Brofft Jr. of Middleburg, Fla., whom she married June 25, 1977 at the Danville Church of Christ. mother, Janice Ferguson of Hillsboro, daughter, Brandy Nicole Brofft, son, Brian Patrick Brofft, grandson, Brian Patrick Brofft Jr., three brothers, Mick (Jean) Ferguson, Rod (Judy) Ferguson, and Darrin (Rhonda) Ferguson.

Cheri was preceded in death by her father, Kelley Dean Ferguson.

Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the New  Market Baptist Cemetery, New Market, Ohio.

Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Sunday, April 22 noon-2 p.m.
