Charles A. Schirmer, 77, of Hillsboro died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at his residence in Hillsboro.
He was born Feb. 7, 1935 in Clermont County, the son of the late Charles and Clara Langhauser Schirmer.
Mr. Schirmer had retired from the General Motors Corporation after 34 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro and was a volunteer at Highland District Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hubbs Schirmer; two children, Grace Schirmer of Hillsboro and Brian Schirmer of Wilmington; one brother, Edward Schirmer of Mt. Orab; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammie Preston; four sisters, Catherine Bene, Celia Wiesenhahn, Martha Behymer, and Agnes O'Dell; and two brothers, Arnold and Gerald Schimer.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
