Charles Edward Cross, 77, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his home.

He was born on July 5, 1935 in Greenfield, the son of James and Nellie (Oiler) Cross.

He was retired from Randalls Textron, Inc. of Wilmington. He was an avid fisherman and sports fan and member of V.F.W. 4736 and F.O.E #1325 in Greenfield. He was a graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Cross of Greenfield and Paula (Allen) May of Leesburg; one son, Marty J. (Jenny) Cross of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Litteral, Darci Litteral, Jessica Smith, Logan May, Justin Cross and Chad (Hallonia) Smith; five great-grandchildren, Emi Lee Litteral, Colten Ray Charles Knisley, Jacey Moore, Ivey Appleman and Delilah Smith; two sisters, Wilma Richter of Greenfield and Susan (David) Shuster of Morehead, Ky.; two brothers, Frank (Dorothy) Cross of Leesburg and John (Patty) Cross of Leesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lou Cross, on June 20, 2009; one sister, Marilyn Everhart; one infant brother, Billy Cross; and both parents.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses, in care of the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
