Carolyn "Effie" (Garrison) Fout, 77, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at Greenfield Area Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 10, 1932 in Paris, Ky., the daughter of the late Charles and Ruby (Clay) Garrison.
She retired from Greenfield Research after 20 years of service and was a former employee of the U.S. Shoe Corp. of Greenfield. She was a 1950 graduate of Buckskin High School. She was a member of F.O.E. #1425 Women's Auxiliary and American Legion Post 14 Women's Auxiliary and the Emmanuel Christian Church of Greenfield.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra (Bobby G.) Richards of Bainbridge, Pamela Miller of Greenfield, and Shiela (Ronald) Clouser of Lyndon; a son, Roger A. Palmer of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Jevin (Danielle) Richards, Brett Richards, Shannon (Keith) Eidenier, Bryan J. (Jacque) Mitchell, Tug (Mariah) McGraw, Kacy Clouser, and Chase Palmer; 10 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Baylie, Autumn, Dakota, and Annastasia Richards, Hannah, Kayla, and Tyler Eidenier, Ashley Mitchell, and Joshua McGraw; a great-great-grandchild, Benjamin VanGundy; her former husband and father of her children, Harvey Palmer of Greenfield; three brothers, Owen "Pap" (Grace) Garrison of Greenfield, Larry (Sandra) Garrison of Greenfield, and Gary (Sandy) Garrison of Greenfield; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, Raymond, Cecil, Wendell, Harold, Tommy, Kenny, William, Donald, and Glenn, and four sisters, Vivian Garrison, Mabel George, Eula George Hyer, and Janet Manley.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Larry Maynard. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010.
