Carl Joseph Cowdrey, 75, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born Aug. 24, 1936, the son of Walter and Alice Cathryn Stockton Cowdrey.
Carl was an over-the-road truck driver and was well-known for cattle breeding.
He is survived by two sons, Michael J. Cowdrey and David C. Cowdrey, both of Hillsboro; mother Alice Cowdrey of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Briton Anderson, Karissa Cowdrey, Chelsey Cowdrey, Michael J.C.D. Cowdrey and Travis (Karri) Mootz; one great-grandchild, Cadence Leonard; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Bob Campbell of Leesburg; and brother and sister-in-law Dan and Rosemarie Cowdrey of Hillsboro.
He is preceded in death by his father Walter Cowdrey; and brother Richard Cowdrey.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Prospect Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
