Boyd A. Hill, 61, of Greenfield, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 30, 1948 in Leesburg, Ohio, the son of the late Walter and Mary (Roberts) Hill.
He attended Edward Lee McClain High School. He served his country as a private in the U.S. Army, stateside during the Vietnam War. Until his illness, Boyd was employed by Greenfield Senior Nutrition. He was a kindhearted person and was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his brother, Phillip Hill of Greenfield; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Harold Barnhart of Greenfield; son Eddie Hill and ex-wife and friend Patti (Dietrich) Hill, both of Greenfield; daughter Katrina Hill Roberts and granddaughters Trinity and Nia of Vandalia; nephews Duane Barnhart and Bruce (Christy) Barnhart, both of Greenfield; nieces Deanna (Mike) Seely of Greenfield and Susan (Randy) Stewart of Chillicothe; four great-nephews, six great-nieces, five great-great-nieces and three great-great-nephews; numerous cousins; uncle Ernest Hill; and lifelong friends Travis Poole and Bobby Purdin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, sister-in-law Wanda Hill, and his daughter's mother, Barbara Roberts.
Services will be held Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation was held 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 with Veterans Appreciation Service at 7:30 p.m.
