Betty Lou DeWitt, 80, of Frankfort, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at her home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Fayette County, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Miller) Cockerill.
She was a licensed practical nurse and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Hocking Technical College and worked as a LPN, caring for the elderly until she retired.
She is survived by three daughters, Maria (Scott) Shuster, Juliet Jenkins and Marilyn Jean Morris, all of Frankfort; one son, Mark (Karen) DeWitt of Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Heath, Valerie, Jason, Danielle, Erica, Jesse, Leslie and Madison, all of Frankfort; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice (Robert) Starr of Frankfort; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Evelyn) DeWitt of Clarksburg and Wayne (Melody) DeWitt of Frankfort; three sisters-in-law, Marlene Henry of Mesa, Ariz., Barb (Gary) Havens of Frankfort and Virginia Cockerill of Frankfort; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Neal DeWitt of Sabina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph DeWitt on March 18, 1973; one infant grandson; one great-granddaughter, Hunter; one brother, Gene Cockerill; her parents, Paul and Marie Cockerill; and parents-in-law, Amos and Mabel DeWitt.
Graveside service will held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AGMC Administration, Relay for Life, 550 Mirabeau St., Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
