Betty Jean Hardin, 81, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Miami Valley Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1931 in Princeton, N.J., the daughter of the late Charles and Jeanette (Nadolski) Short.
She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro.
She is survived by seven sons, Dennis (Lorene) Hardin of Irvington, Ky., Dave (Susan) Hardin of Nevada, Daniel (Ruthie Mae) Hardin of Dayton, Douglas (Valentina) Hardin of Hillsboro, Duane Hardin of Dayton, Derrick (Holly) Hardin of Waynesville and Dominic (Tami) Hardin of Greenfield; two daughters, Doris VanBibber of Tampa, Fla. and Delores Hardin of Oakwood; one sister, Georgette (Richard) John and family of California; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous friends and in-laws throughout Ohio and Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Granville Edward Hardin on Sept. 11, 2006.
In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.
