Bettie A. Haywood, 88, of Greenfield, died at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at Edgewood Manor, Greenfield.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1923 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Mary E. Brown Yankee.
Bettie was a 1941 graduate of McClain High School, Greenfield. On April 5, 1947, she married Gerald C. Haywood, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1974.
Surviving are one grandson, Vernon C. Haywood of Wilmington; one nephew, Jeff A. Boyll of Boardman, Ohio; one niece,Sally A. Boyll of Greenfield; one great-nephew, Chad E. Coffey of Texas; and a close friend, Beulah Rawlinson of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by two infant daughters; one son, John Franklin Haywood; one granddaughter, Carrie Anne (Haywood) Brown; and one sister, Ruth Eloise Boyll.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service in Greenfield Cemetery at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, with Dennis Brewer officiating. No calling hours will be held. The Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
