Bessie Victoria Edwards, 95, of Washington C.H., formerly of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Jan.13, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington C.H.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1917 in Grundy, Va., the daughter of, Chester J. and Lina Cordelia (Childress) Cook.

She was retired from U.S. Shoe Factory in Greenfield and a member of Walnut Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Jennifer) Edwards of Tipp City; one daughter, Judith (Raymond) Rittenhouse of Washington C.H.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Trixie (Bill) Ferguson of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland Edwards on Nov. 9, 1979; one son, Jerry Woodruff; one daughter, Joyce Cullingford; three brothers, Theodore, Clarence and Leon Cook; three sisters, Chloa Looney, Nora Belle Shope and Dixie Jones; and both parents.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Robert Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21.
