Bertha M. Roush, 91, of Wilmington, formerly of the Buford community, died Sunday, Jan.c 20, 2013 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

She was born Dec. 11, 1921 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Melvin Lewis Stratton and Rosa Lavina Swartz Stratton.

She was a member of Buford Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, Vinton (Michelle) Roush of Fairfield and Obie (Adrian) Ewing-Roush of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Teresa Roush of Wilmington and Rosanna (Hans) Oatlepp of Milford. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Louderback, of Buford; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jacob Roush; a son, Gary Samuel Roush; a grandson, John Lewis Roush; a sister, Hazel Naylor; and three brothers, Oscar, Edgar, and Ralph Stratton.

Services will be held at the Buford Church of Christ at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 with Mike Roush officiating. Private burial services will follow in the Buford Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the church on Friday from noon-1 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Buford Church of Christ in Bertha's memory.
