Alice Rose Shephard, 74, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.

She was born in Dayton on Aug. 17, 1938, the daughter of the late Herbert and Margerie (Hall) Willoughby.

She is survived by her son, Harold Shephard of Dayton; five daughters, Judy Ammon of Dayton, Karen Whiteneck of Dayton, Brenda Burge of Dayton, Linda Amburgery of Dayton and Jeannie Pelfrey of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Willoughby of Hillsboro; two sisters, Bertha "Pat" Marsh of Patterson, Ga. and Gloria Warner of St. Paris, Ohio; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband, James "Jim" Shephard; two sons, James "Jimmy" Willoughby and Rodney Shephard; two brothers, Herbert Willoughby, Jr. and William Willoughby; and one sister, Jenny Kizer.

Alice's wishes were to be cremated, and a memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.

Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services were in charge of arrangements.
