Wilmington OSHP Post investigating single-vehicle fatal crash

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle, single-occupant fatal crash.  

In is unknown exactly when the crash occurred; however, the vehicle was discovered on Feb. 24 at 11:05 a.m. on Second Creek Road near Rhude Road in Marion Township, Clinton County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Jeep Liberty operated by a Nola Fideli, 57, of Batavia was traveling westbound on Second Creek Road when it traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a traffic sign, a utility pole, and a concrete culvert before overturning into a creek.

Ms. Fideli was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Blanchester Fire and EMS, and the Clinton County Coroner’s Officer.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Patrol Post.
