Southern Ohio ESC Governing Board President Roger West honored for 40 years of service

Mr. Roger West (center), president of the Southern Ohio ESC Governing Board, was honored by the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) for 40 years of distinguished school board service.

The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) proudly recognized a remarkable milestone during its Governing Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 22. Mr. Roger West, president of the Southern Ohio ESC Governing Board, was honored by the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) for 40 years of distinguished school board service.

Mark Ewing, Southwest Regional Manager for OSBA, presented Mr. West with the award during the evening’s meeting, commending his decades-long commitment to education and public service. Throughout his 40 years of leadership, Mr. West has consistently championed student success, strong schools, and community growth across southern Ohio.

"It is a great honor to recognize and celebrate President West for reaching an incredible milestone of 40 years of dedicated service to public education," said Southern Ohio ESC Superintendent Mr. Curt Bradshaw.

"For four decades, Mr. West has exemplified the very best of what it means to be a public servant, always placing students first and working tirelessly to support strong schools and strong communities. His vision, wisdom, and steadfast advocacy have helped shape not only the success of the Southern Ohio ESC, but also the future of countless young people across our region. We are deeply grateful for Mr. West's extraordinary leadership and board service."

In addition to serving as President of the SOESC Governing Board, Mr. West has played a vital role in advancing educational initiatives and supporting districts throughout the region. His long-standing service reflects a deep commitment to building brighter futures for students and families.

The Southern Ohio ESC congratulates Mr. West on this tremendous achievement and expresses sincere gratitude for his unparalleled dedication to public education.
