Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Fayette County

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle crash that involved one fatality.

The crash occurred on June 21 at approximately 6:55 a.m. on S.R. 753 between U.S. 35 and Robinson Road in Union Township, Fayette County.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Daniel Hunt, 32, of Springboro, was traveling northeast on S.R. 753, and a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old male of Washington Court House, was traveling southwest on S.R. 753. The Chevrolet Colorado appears to have traveled left of center, striking the Silverado.

The 17-year-old was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. Hunt was transported by ground to Fayette Memorial Hospital, then relayed to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. The investigation is ongoing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
