Lebanon OSHP Post investigating fatal crash
Franklin – The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a commercial motor vehicle and a motorcycle. The crash occurred June 24 at approximately 5:12 p.m., in the intersection of the ramp from Interstate 75 north and state Route 123, in the city of Franklin, Warren County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 1995 Peterbilt 379, operated by Anthony Allen, 41, of Roseville, Mich., was traveling on the ramp from Interstate 75 north to state Route 123. A 2006 Suzuki DL1000, operated by a juvenile, 17, of Dayton, was traveling south on state Route 123. The Peterbilt struck the motorcycle in the intersection, before striking a raised median divider, and overturning. The Suzuki overturned after being struck and came to rest in the raised median.
The juvenile was ground transported to Atrium Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Allen was ground transported to Atrium Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Lebanon Post.
The Patrol was assisted on scene by Franklin Township Fire and EMS, JEMS EMS, Franklin Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Fox Towing.
