Hillsboro Police Report

These incidents have been reported by the HPD.

On March 31, at approximately 0032 hours, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of N. High Street in reference to an intoxicated person that was in possession of a firearm. Upon arriving on scene, contact was made with Maddox Powell, 21, of Clarksville. Powell was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Powell was arrested for using weapons while intoxicated and transported to Highland County Jail. 

At 1305 hours, a female came into the Hillsboro Police Department to report a theft of a cell phone. An officer met with her in the lobby and a report was taken.

At 5:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Walnut Street in the city of Hillsboro for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, a small fire was found on the wooden steps and porch area at the front of the residence. An officer at the scene successfully extinguished the fire using a portable fire extinguisher. The Paint Creek Fire & EMS is responding to the incident and conducting a further investigation.

Jessica Chase of New Vienna was cited for texting while driving.

Phillip Wilson of Greenfield was cited for texting while driving.

Jeremie Snodgrass of Leesburg was cited for texting while driving.

Hunter Price of Hillsboro was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
