Highland County Sheriff’s Report

June 15
Deputies Responded to the 1900 block of Buford-Bardwell Road, after a report of a person residing there that had several warrants for their arrest. After arriving on the scene, deputies received permission from the property owner to conduct a search of the residence. After several attempts to have the suspect make his presence known without a reply, it was announced that K9 Dom would be deployed. At that time, the suspect acknowledged his presence and was taken into custody without incident. The subject identified as Bryant R. Parks Sr., 44, of Williamsburg was turned over to Brown County sheriff’s deputies who had an outstanding warrant for Parks' arrest.
A deputy responded to the 12000 block of North Shore Drive after a report of a baby choking. Upon arrival, the deputy noticed the infant was struggling to breathe, placed the child face down on his forearm and gave several light thrusts on the baby’s back allowing the airway to open. The child was transported to Highland District Hospital by Paint Creek squad.
June 16
A resident of the 200 block of Greenbush Road reported a burglary.
A resident of the 6600 block of Pied Piper Pkwy. reported a domestic disturbance. After investigation, one of the parties had left prior to the deputy’s arrival, the caller declined charges.
A deputy responded to the 300 block of Grandview Ave., Lynchburg, after a complaint of animal cruelty. After investigation, charges are pending for two juveniles.
