Highland County Historical Society agricultural program April 24

The Highland County Historical Society will recognize the history and importance that farming has played in what is now Highland County during a program highlighting local agriculture.  

The program will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24 in the Conference Room of the Highland House Museum, 151 East Main Street in Hillsboro.

The program will share the earliest known planting of corn that took place soon after the first settlers arrived in what is now the Sinking Spring area of Highland County. Several agricultural organizations, events and family farms in the Ohio Historic Family Farm Program will also be acknowledged.  

The presentation will also discuss the changes to the county outline since its May 1, 1805 founding.

Program attendance is not restricted to members of the Society and is open to the public and all interested in local history. There is no admission charge.
