Highland County 4-H community honors recipients of Family Consumer Science awards

On Tuesday, July 14, the Highland County 4-H community gathered to recognize the recipients of Family Consumer Science and special interest project award winners as well as a few outstanding teens and members of the community.
The evening included speeches from 2025 Fair Queen Hanna West and from 4-H Committee members, Sarah Fullenkamp and Rob Stratton.
Fullenkamp and Stratton gave lovely speeches honoring the late Mary Hagar and Randy Roush as Friends of 4-H with one Friend of 4-H Award to be presented at a later date.
Amazing participants from 4-H Clubs Fab Five, Marshall Junior Farmers, Swine Time, Concord Junior Farmers, Fantastics, Green Countrie Farm Hands, Belfast Kids Unlimited, Highland’s Best, Buford Dairy and Livestock, Marshall Stockmen, Showtime Elite, All About Beef, Premier Showmen, Lynchburg Guys and Gals, Barnyard Bunch, Chase N’ Tails, Fur, Feathers, and Friends, Highland County Buckeyes, and Greener Pastures represented their respective club with pride and excellence.

Included in the ceremony were teens Emma Sanderson and Alexis West who were recognized for their achievements at the state level. Sanderson for winning not one but two Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards and West for her second year serving on the Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board.
Highland County 4-H is incredibly proud of their exhibitors and proud to see many of them present their work at the Ohio State Fair.
