Fundraising activities for 53rd Ernie Blankenship Memorial Radio-Telethon underway

The fundraising activities for the 53rd Ernie Blankenship Memorial Radio-Telethon are underway.  

The Chili Challenge was held Tuesday at the Highland County YMCA. Debbie Vance was the winner of the mild category, and Robert Moots the winner of the hot category. There were a total of 15 entries that were judged by Rotary members and YMCA members.
  
The winning recipes will be served at the Chili Dinner that will be held on Tuesday, March 18 from 5-7 p.m. at the VFW on West Main Street in Hillsboro behind the Dairy Queen. The always lively dessert auction will take place at 6:15 p.m. with Rotarian Rick Williams providing the entertaining auctioneer services. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at any of the banks in Hillsboro or from Hillsboro Rotarians.

There will be seven items offered for auction at the Radio-Telethon which will be March 26 from 7-9 p.m. in both Hillsboro and Greenfield. Items include an autographed Joe Burrow jersey, an autographed Jamar Chase Bengals helmet and an Ohio State 2024 National Championship framed photo collage all donated by Southern Hills Community Bank, the host of the Hillsboro event.   

There will also be four tickets for the Thomas Rett concert at Riverbend on Aug. 15 and four tickets for the Luke Bryan concert at Riverbend on Aug. 1 donated by John Barney of iHeart media. There is a one-year family membership donated by the Hillsboro YMCA and four tickets and a parking pass donated by Craig Edgington and family.
Bids will be accepted during the Radio-Telethon in person or by phone at the pledge call-in number, 937-402-1557. All proceeds will benefit the Highland County Society for Children & Adults.
