Highland County commissioners Terry Britton and Brad Roades held an abbreviated meeting Tuesday, June 23 in lieu of the board's usual Wednesday meeting, as they will be grilling hamburgers at this year's KAMP Dovetail on June 24.

Commissioner David Daniels was not in attendance.

Commissioners met with Jennifer Maynard of the county records department and were updated on several matters, including obtaining an additional 10 keys for officeholders.

Maynard also noted two additional line item expenses – one for $56,300 and one for $14,000 – related to the relocation of records from the county prosecutor's office and the Juvenile and Probate Court. A number of boxes, filing cabinets and other records will be transferred to the new records retention center on Beech Street.

Records from the Highland County Board of Elections are scheduled to be moved in July.

Maynard also said they are reviewing résumés for an assistant for the records department. She said 25 résumés have been submitted.

Commissioners thanked Maynard for the update during a work session at the June 23 meeting.

In other business, commissioners received a letter of resignation from Airport Authority Board member Tim Roberts.

"As of June 22, Tim has resigned," Britton said. "We have received a letter of interest for the position."

Commissioners also received a request for information on Dodson Creek Solar, LLC, from the Ohio Department of Development.
