Burglary suspect arrested in Highland County

On May 19, Highland County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call for a burglary in progress in the 1900 block of S.R. 73 in Jackson Township. The caller stated a male had entered his home without permission. The caller confronted the male, who then left the home.

Before deputies arrived, a second victim reported that his 2018 Jeep Renegade had been stolen in the same area.

Deputies located the stolen Jeep in Union Township in northern Highland County. A suspect, Thomas J. Tilton, 18, of Hillsboro was arrested and charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft, both fourth-degree felonies.
