Batavia Post investigating two-vehicle fatal crash
The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles on Old State Route 32 Road at Zagar Road. The crash occurred on April 20 at approximately 4:35 p.m. in Batavia Township, Clermont County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Ford Focus, driven by Trey Farris, 18, of Williamsburg, was traveling west on Old State Route 32. Farris attempted to turn onto Zagar Road and was struck by a 2011 Nissan Rogue, operated by Devon Riley, 31, of Moscow. Both vehicles came to rest on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Mr. Farris was transported by Central Joint Fire EMS to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.
Laraina Holder, a passenger in Mr. Farris' vehicle, was transported by Air Care to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Mr. Riley was treated at the scene by Central Joint Fire for minor injuries.
Christina Riley, a passenger in Mr. Riley's vehicle, was transported to Clermont Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
Zachary Prather, an additional passenger in Mr. Riley's vehicle, was treated at the scene with minor injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Central Joint Fire and EMS.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Batavia Post.
