A thank you note to Gary Lewis

Thank you, Gary Lewis. I believe the citizens owe you a thank you for being a City Auditor who cares for the way our city's monies are spent. In my opinion, our city would love to spend, spend, spend. Then when there's no more money left, raise taxes, so they can continue to spend.
As far as the Mayor being "held hostage" by the City Auditor, I believe he might be "held hostage" by our city Fire Department and their union. At a time when people are having hard times, how can our leaders keep spending without regards to these facts?
I feel with the example of Fire Department wages, with overtime, and benefits, that the city of Hillsboro might be making more than Cincinnati firefighters. Yes, businesses are moving out of city limits or closing and so have families due to high costs (sewer, water, taxes, etc.).
Slow down, City Leaders; many people are on fixed incomes here. Sometimes people can come together to solve problems without increasing monies. Give it a try!
Gary Lewis, you might consider running for Mayor of Hillsboro next time around.
Thank You,
Arthur Gale
