To the editor:
Highland County Help Me Grow had another successful "Adopt-A-Family"
project for the seventh consecutive year. Since it was another
difficult year for many, due to job losses and the economy, we were
fearful that we could not provide Christmas for as many people as we
have in the past. However, thanks to the generosity of the below named
sponsors, we were able to help many children this past year.
Through the collaborative efforts of Highland County Help Me Grow and
sponsors, children enrolled in the program and their siblings received
Christmas gifts. Through this community effort, we were also able to
provide gift cards for many families to purchase groceries.
Sponsors included:
• Jeff Miller, instructor, and students at the Highland County
Alternative School
• American Legion Post #568 in Leesburg
• Fall Creek Friends Church in Hillsboro
• First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro
• Hopewell Region 14 Motor Team
• NCB Bank in Hillsboro
• Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center in Hillsboro
• Southern State Community College, the Patri-Tots Learning Center
• St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro
• Tony & Judy Keltz
• Toys for Tots of Hillsboro
• Wilkin-Wilkin Insurance of Hillsboro
• Fairfield Commons Mall fundraising project
• Hillsboro Farmers Market
• Y-Gradale
• Holy Trinity Church
• Nancy Hook
The Help Me Grow program offers health and developmental services so
that children start school healthy and ready to learn. The program is
