On Aug. 25, the Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. will be holding our annual golf outing at Buckeye Hills Country Club with all proceeds going back to the organization to help support the numerous individuals and families we serve.
As you are aware, our county has been hit with very difficult economic times. In 2009, our agency provided services to over 36% of our county population.
The organization offers numerous programs in the areas of Housing, Health Care, Education, Emergency Services and Nutrition. While the
demand for services from residents who find themselves falling between the cracks increases, the funding to continue and further organizational
initiatives remains stagnant or declines. This year we have successfully obtained new funding to further meet the needs within our community by
providing new services including Free Lunches during the summer for children, Early Head Start and Foreclosure Counseling. However, raising
unrestricted income to keep current programs operational is crucial.
HCCAO, Inc. is seeking your assistance in helping make this golf outing a success. You can help in several ways:
You can come and golf for the day — bring a whole team. We have opportunities for corporate sponsorships in the amount of $500 or hole sponsorships in the amount of $100. However, we will gladly accept donations at other levels. We will accept door prizes for the event. We know that current economic situation in our area and in our country has truly impacted individuals and businesses — including perhaps yours. Additionally, I know you receive numerous requests for assistance from various entities.
On behalf of the Board and Staff of HCCAO, Inc., I ask your consideration in helping make this golf outing a success in whatever way you are led to help.
If you would like to learn more about our organization or need additional information, please contact me at 937-393-3458 or 937-763-4478.
Sincerely,
Julia Wise
