Lady Indians win on road at Waverly

The Hillsboro Lady Indians ended the 2013 calendar year with a road victory Monday by defeating the Waverly Lady Tigers, 47-35 in non-league play.

Hillsboro's win over Waverly was their third consecutive win, moving them to an overall record of 4-7.

Three HHS players finished in double figures with Kirsten Juillerat leading the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Hannah Kibler and Faith Middleton (five assists) each added 10 points for the Lady Indians.

Each team scored 10 points in the first quarter, but HHS outscored Waverly by a 10-6 score for a halftime advantage of 20-16.

For the third consecutive quarter, HHS scored 10 points while holding WHS to nine points in the third, and in the fourth, the Lady Indians led 17-10.

Also scoring points for HHS were Madison Snyder with eight points (eight rebounds) and Kaylynn Bell with six points (five assists). Hope Tira scored one point in the win with a free throw.
