Lady Indians win by 10 goals over McClain

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Lady Indians gained their ninth win of the season Tuesday evening, defeating rival McClain by a 10-0 score at Richards Memorial Field.
The Lady Indians led 4-0 at halftime and scored six more goals in the final 40 minutes. HHS improves to 9-1-1 overall.
Trista Rhodes led the Lady Indians with a hat-trick, scoring the first goal of the match with 38:39 on the clock, and two more goals in the second half off consecutive headers at the 20:09 and 14:23 marks of the final 40-minute half.
Cheyney Myers added two goals to her totals this season as the senior scored a goal in each half. Myers scored her first goal with 35:00 left in the first half and her second goal at the 28:00 mark of the second half.
Also scoring a goal in the first half was Kaylee Achor (33:00) with an assist from Kaylynn Bell and Cadence Myers at the 24:03 mark of the half. Also with an assist in the match was Mallory Sluss.

Other second-half goals included Madison Colliver at 22:38. Rachel Sexton, the keeper, scored her goal on a penalty kick with 11:22 left in the match, and the final goal came with 10:29 on the clock as Lillian Vanzant made it a 10-goal advantage for the home team.
"McClain played hard and played well for being a young team," Hillsboro coach Leslie Molen said. "They competed and didn't quit.
"Our girls played well. The girls came in and did what they needed to get the win. Now we have to be ready to play on Thursday."
HHS travels to Clarksville on Thursday to take on SCOL-leading Clinton-Massie. CM defeated HHS at Richards Memorial Field earlier this season.
