Lady Indians move to .500 on the season; defeat Chillicothe

The Hillsboro Lady Indians continue to add to the winning column this season, this time by winning their second South Central Ohio League game of the year, defeating the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, 61-55 Saturday afternoon.

The home win for the Lady Indians shows the progress the team has made this season, improving to 8-8 overall on the season, winning seven of their past eight games.

HHS led 18-14 following the first quarter and after CHS outscored the Lady Indians, 18-15 in the second frame, HHS still led at halftime by a 33-32 score.

The third quarter was big for HHS, as they led CHS 17-9 in the eight-minute frame, but in the fourth, CHS tried to tie the score. HHS fended off the Lady Cavs, even though HHS was outscored 14-11.

Madison Snyder collected a double-double for the Lady Indians, scoring 26 points and adding 13 rebounds to her totals.

Kirsten Juillerat followed with 16 points, as she was 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Juillerat also had four blocked shots.

Kaylynn Bell finished with seven points and four assists, while Hannah Kibler totaled six points and four assists. Tyeika Cumberland totaled four points, and Faith Middleton finished with two points and six rebounds.

Dawes, of CHS, led all scorers with 27 points.
