Lady Indians finish Regional Runners-Up

The Hillsboro Lady Indians soccer team saw their record season come to a close Saturday afternoon, finishing as Division II Regional runners-up following a 3-0 loss to Granville at Centerville Stadium.

HHS finished the 2013 season at 16-3-2 overall and 4-1 in the postseason with wins over Unioto (3-2), Circleville (3-0), Fairfield-Union (1-0) and West Holmes (3-2).

In the postseason, HHS outscored their opponents, 10-7 with two shutouts in the district rounds.

This season also marked the Lady Indians winning back-to-back district championships for the first time in the program's history, along with reaching the Elite Eight for the first time as well.

The score at halftime with Granville (18-2-1) in the regional final was tied at zero. Granville scored all three goals in the second half.

HHS was outshot by Granville 10-3 in the second half but were unable to score a goal on multiple opportunities. Granville outshot HHS in the first half, 7-6.

Seniors for HHS were Rachel Sexton, Madison Colliver and Taylor Davis.

Granville will play in the Division II State Final Four when they will face Kettering Alter.
