Indians take home SCOL win against Blue Lions

WASHINGTON C.H. — The Hillsboro Indians stayed perfect in the South Central Ohio League this week, holding off a 25-point fourth quarter rally by the Washington Blue Lions, en route to a 64-63 win Friday night, at Washington Senior High School.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, the Indians (2-0, 2-2) defeated the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles for their first SCOL win.

HHS led the Blue Lions 12-10 after the first quarter, followed with each team scoring 17 points in the second quarter. HHS out-scored the Blue Lions 19-11 in the third frame.

Washington (0-2, 1-2) won the final quarter, 25-16.

Devante Ames led the Indians with 18 points, followed by Eli Hogsett with 13. Tyrand Cumberland scored 12 for HHS. Ames and Cumberland each made two 3-pointers.

Kyle Slone, of Washington, led all scorers with 30 points, making three 3-pointers.

HHS went 18-of-24 from the free-throw line. Washington was 12-of-16.

The Indians now stand at 2-2 overall, 2-0 in the SCOL. They will host the Miami Trace Panthers, who are undefeated, on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at HHS.[[In-content Ad]]
