Indians split recent matches

The Hillsboro Indians varsity tennis team split two recent South Central Ohio League matches.
On Tuesday (April 13), Hillsboro fell 4-1 to the Washington Blue Lions.
HHS first singles Ross Chambers had the lone Indian win as he defeated Blue Lions' Eric Phillips 6-4, 6-3.
Hillsboro singles Trong Le and Andrew Goolsby each lost to Washington's Tyler Ream (2-6, 4-6) and Kyle Litteral (4-6, 2-6) respectively.
Hillsboro's first doubles of Ben Rhoads and Stanley Lennigan lost (5-7, 2-6) to Nick Dresch and Nathan Wheeler, while Hillsboro's second doubles lost a heartbreaker (6-2, 5-6, 5-7) to Blue Lions' Patton, and Vance.

The Hillsboro netters returned to their winning ways Thursday with a 4-1 SCOL win over Clinton Massie.
Indians first single Ross Chambers won over Chris Corcoran 6-2, 6-3.
Second singles Trong Le won over Andy Jones 6-3, 6-4.
Freshman Resse Leibreich played his very first varsity singles match, and while playing credibly at 5-7, 4-6 it was not enough to pull out a win over Clinton Massies's Mile Wilson.
First doubles Ben Rhoads and Johnny Abel played together for their first time, and won 6-1, 6-0 over Massie's Tyler Crowin and Sam Galliot.
HHS second doubles Stanley Lennigan and Derek Boone defeated Connor Wilson and Sam Leach 6-2, 7-5.
Hillsboro coach LaRue Turner was pleased with Chambers.
"Ross had continued improvement in shot selection, angling and his off-the-court team leadership," Turner said.
Turner also applauded Leibriech on his aggressive attitude.
"Reese has tremendous athletic ability, along with a wonderful practice and work ethic," Turner said.
Hillsboro plays three straight away matches at Athens, Miami Trace and Wheelersburg, before their next home match with London on Thursday, April 22.[[In-content Ad]]
