Hillsboro tennis defeats Unioto in road win

For the second time this season, the Hillsboro Lady Indians' tennis team were victorious as they defeated the Unioto Lady Shermans, 5-0 Tuesday at UHS.

Hillsboro swept the singles events with Vanessa McGinnis defeating Kayla Houser, 7-5, 7-6 (7/2) in two sets for the first singles win.

From there, Kaitlin Whiting took down Katy McMahan in straight sets at 6-1, 6-0 in second singles. In third singles, Emily Shanahan won by scores of 6-0, 6-1.

HHS also won first doubles with the team of Alexis Sears and Chloe Burkard defeating Macey Sprague and Courtney Looper by scores of 6-2, 6-4.

In second doubles, Madison Hopkins and Samantha Fender defeated Brantly Warren and Kaitlyn Matthews 6-0, 6-0.

The Lady Indians are now 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the SCOL.
