Hillsboro, McClain winter athletes earn All-SCOL honors

Hillsboro and McClain each had a total of 11 student-athletes earn All-South Central Ohio League honors for this past winter season.
 
For Hillsboro, in girls bowling, Raven Little and Dominique Burns earned all-league honors, while in boys bowling, Jaxsun Miller and Dylan Mullenix earned the postseason honors.

In girls swimming, Sydni Cox was named all-league, and earning all-league in wrestling were Brandon Carter, Ryan Kelley, Craig Jackson and Kordell Ford.

For boys basketball, voted all-league was Jarrod Hart, and in girls basketball, garnering honors was Kaylynn Bell.

As for McClain, in girls basketball, Tara Karnes and Shania Massie were named first-team, while in boys basketball Ryan Faulconer was selected to the first-team.
 
In swimming, first-team members for the McClain girls were Morgan Dettwiller in the 200-yard freestyle, while Amber Sowders won the 100-yard breaststroke.[[In-content Ad]]
Gaining first-team honors in boys swimming was Tommy Free at 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard relay. The relay team, which also consisted of Tommy Henry, Daniel Mottie and Adomas Fabin, won the 200-yard relay.
 
In wrestling, the 132-pound champion was Coty Barnhart, and the 220-pound champion was Brandon Davis.
 
As for the sport of basketball, listed by school are first- and second-team players selected by coaches of the SCOL.
 
As for basketball, girls All-SCOL first-team players were: Kaylynn Bell (HHS), Tara Karnes (MHS), Shania Massie (MHS), Sydney Brackemyre (CM), Kasey Uetrecht (CM), Mary Moyer (CM), Deidre McKay (MT) and Abby Schwenk (MT).
 
Second team All-SCOL in girls basketball were: Beth Huffman (EC), Casey Knisley (MP), Josie Cobb (MT), Ariana Mabra (MT), Molli Shaw (WCH) and Carleigh Chaffins (WCH).
 
In boys basketball, first-team players were: Jarrod Hart (HHS), Ryan Faulconer (MHS), Cory Saddler (CM), Tyler Uetrecht (CM), Alex Williams (MP), Blake Baldwin (MT), Cedric Pettiford (MT) and Derek Shaw (WCH).
 
Boys basketball All-SCOL second-team players included: Conner Eckles (WCH), Dalton Floyd (EC), Ryne Davis (MP), Kyle Fisher (LHS), Brok Bennett (LHS) and Zac Carey (LHS).
