Hillsboro football scrimmages Adena, CNE over weekend

The Hillsboro Indians hosted both the Adena Warriors and the Clermont Northeastern Rockets Saturday at Richards Memorial Field.
All three teams took turns facing each other in an actual scrimmage format, along with numerous 10-play sets in a rotating basis.
For the Indians, one play which stood out was a 47-yard run by quarterback Toby Warrington against Adena in their first offensive 10-play series.
In the 10-play sets, both Adena and CNE scored touchdowns against the Indians in 70-yard drives consisting of seven and eight plays.

Hillsboro previously played Southeastern in a scrimmage last week, and this coming Friday, HHS will host the Paint Valley Bearcats at the annual "Fish Fry" scrimmage at 7 p.m.
That same evening, the McClain Tigers will be hosting the Logan Elm Braves at McClain Field in their final scrimmage of the preseason. On Saturday, MHS scrimmaged the Wilmington Hurricane at Williams Stadium, located on the campus of Wilmington College.
HHS opens the regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 30 when they host the Western Brown Broncos. The McClain Tigers will host Adena in their Week 1 opener at McClain Field. Regular-season games begin at 7:30 p.m.
