Hart races in Midwest Meet of Champions

Recent Hillsboro graduate Jarrod Hart ran his final race against high school competition, Saturday in the Midwest Meet of Champions in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
Hart, who was the Division II State runner-up last weekend in the 800-meter dash, ran the same race in the Midwest Meet of Champions at Northrop High School with athletes from Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
 
Of the nine competitors in the 800m dash Saturday, Hart placed sixth with a time of 1:54.92.
 
The winner was Matt Dorsey (Ind.), with a time of 1:51.76. Andrew Middleton (Mich.) was second at 1:52.31, and in third was Robert Murphy (Ind.) at 1:52.78.[[In-content Ad]]
Luke Johnson (Mich.) was fourth at 1:53.07, and in fifth place was Wyatt Hartman (Ohio) at 1:53.37.
 
Following Hart were Wuoi Mach (Mich.) at 1:55.20 in seventh, Robert Sharkey (Ind.) at 1:57.75 for eighth place and in ninth was Raine Woreman (Ohio) at 1:58.80.
 
At the state championships in Columbus last weekend, Hart ran a time of 1:54.11.
 
Hart broke his personal best mark in the state championships, as he had a time of 1:55.66 at the Athens Regionals the previous weekend where he was the regional champion. Hart was a South Central Ohio League, district and regional champion this season.
 
Hart had a time of 1:56.82 at the Washington C.H. Districts and 2:03.83 at the SCOL meet, both first-place finishes.
