Austin Goolsby sets new PR at Jim Green Invitational

Hillsboro High School graduate and University of Cincinnati pole vaulter Austin Goolsby set a new personal-best mark at the Jim Green Invitational, held Jan. 14-15 in Lexington, Ky.
Goolsby jumped a new personal record (PR) of 5.17m, or 16-11.50, at the indoor meet. He finished second, with University of Kentucky freshman Keaton Daniel winning the event with a vault of 18-0.5.
As previously reported, Goolsby also recorded a PR vault of 16-06.75 at the Jim Green Invitational two years ago. His outdoor PR is 16-2.75. He is also ranked in the top 9 in individual school history at UC in the indoor pole vault.
Goolsby, a 2018 Hillsboro graduate, is a former OHSAA state pole vault champion (junior year) and state runner-up (senior year).
