The following are recaps from recent Highland County soccer and volleyball games.

Thursday, Sept. 28

VOLLEYBALL
Lady ’Cats defeat Manchester

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats defeated the Manchester Lady Greyhounds in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action on Thursday, Sept. 28 at MHS in three straight sets.

WHS won their SHAC match by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-14.

Friday, Sept. 29

GIRLS SOCCER
Lynchburg-Clay topples Peebles by 12 goals

On Friday night (Sept. 29) the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the host Peebles Lady Indians, 12-0 in SHAC competition.

The game saw LC’s Jade Massey finish with five goals en route to the victory, and she also had two assists.

Savannah Bell scored two goals for LCHS, as did Reese Ruble, who also collected an assist.

Scoring one goal each were Brya McClain, Aubrey Slack and Olivia Van Fleet. Assists were also credited to Lainie Lunsford (two), Slack (two), Allie Waits and Autumn Wilkin.

The goalie for the shutout was Caitlyn Collins.

Saturday, Sept. 30

BOYS SOCCER
Wheelersburg tops Lynchburg-Clay by three goals

The Lynchburg-Clay boys soccer team lost on Saturday (Sept. 30) in non-conference action to the host Wheelersburg Pirates by a 4-1 score.

LC’s lone goal was scored by Josiah Burns, with the assist going to Braedon West. At keeper for LC was Isaac Eyre with 10 saves.

Monday, Oct. 2

BOYS SOCCER
Mustangs, Indians tie in non-conference game

The Hillsboro Indians and Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs began October with a tie in non-conference action at HHS on Monday (Oct. 2), as each team scored two goals, ending the 80 minutes of soccer in a 2-2 tie.

For the Mustangs, goals were scored by Austin Bell and Sam Turner. Credited with an assist was Trevor Neuhaus.

LC keeper Isaac Eyre finished with three saves.

For HHS, the first goal was scored by Wesley Bailey, with the goal assisted by Ryan Howland. The second HHS goal was by Austin Bledsoe, and he was assisted by Brayden Scruggs.

GIRLS SOCCER
Lady Mustangs shut out Hillsboro

On Monday (Oct. 2), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the Hillsboro Lady Indians by a 6-0 score in non-conference play at LCHS.

No stats were available for the LCHS Lady Mustangs.

VOLLEYBALL
Lady Mustangs win in four sets against West Union

It was a winning effort in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action on Monday night, as the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the West Union Lady Dragons in four sets at LCHS.

In the game, Halle Greene was the kills leader for LCHS with seven, while Matalyn Magee totaled six kills, and with five kills each were Addy Carraher and Kylie O’Connor.

Carraher was the leader win assists with 11, and Ava McLaughlin totaled eight assists.

The aces leader was O’Connor with six, while Joslyn Rockey led LCHS with 23 digs. Also in digs, Allison Rockey totaled 15 and Carraher had 14.

Greene led LCHS with one block.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

BOYS SOCCER
HHS falls to Chillicothe by one goal

Hillsboro played close with the Chillicothe Cavaliers in FAC action Tuesday night (Oct. 3) at CHS, but lost the conference game by a 3-2 score.

Goals for HHS included Tate Davis scoring a goal with the assist from Austin Bledsoe. Hillsboro’s second goal was scored by Wesley Bailey with the assist from Judah Brandyberry.

Lady Indians lose to Chillicothe

The Hillsboro Lady Indians lost an FAC contest to the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers by a 4-0 score.

VOLLEYBALL
Lady Indians drop FAC game at CHS

Hillsboro lost their Frontier Athletic Conference game Tuesday night (Oct. 3) to the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers in three straight sets.

The scores for the match were 25-16, 25-14 and 25-18.

No individual stats were submitted for this game.

McClain defeats Washington by 3 goals

The McClain Lady Tigers defeated the Washington Lady Blue Lions in soccer Tuesday night, 3-0 for a FAC win at WCH.

McClain led 1-0 at halftime and added two more goals in the second half.
