Winter storm warning posted for Jan. 20-21

A winter storm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Highland and surrounding counties for Thursday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan. 21.

The NWS predicts four to five inches of snow is likely on Thursday.

Wednesday's forecast calls for cloudy skies, with a high near 30 and  a low around 21.

Extended forecast
Thursday: Snow, mainly after 10am. High near 29. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 5 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Snow, mainly before 2am. Low around 13. Wind chill values as low as zero. West wind between 5 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 18. West wind between 10 and 14 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 5.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 29.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 16.
