Waltz out as national security adviser | The Highland County Press

President Donald Trump today ousted Mike Waltz from his national security adviser position.

Trump announced Thursday afternoon that he would nominate Waltz to be his ambassador to the United Nations, although Trump did not give an indication when the switch would happen.

Waltz is the first senior level departure in the second Trump administration.

Trump said Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as national security adviser in the interim.
