U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorses Rob Portman for U.S. Senate

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today endorsed Rob Portman for U.S. Senate.

“We’re endorsing Rob Portman because he will stand up for the people of Ohio in order to create jobs during these tough economic times,” said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber’s senior vice president and political director.  

“Rob is an invaluable leader who has a common sense approach to job creation and getting Ohio back on the road to recovery.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is a forceful voice for Ohio’s small businesses,” Portman said. “Our small businesses need to know that their government is working for them, not against them. But here in Ohio, our small business owners are tallying up the cost of the new taxes and burdensome regulations under Washington’s job-killing polices and keeping their fingers crossed they survive. Ohio’s small businesses and manufacturers need every opportunity to succeed, grow and create jobs, and the best way to do that is to get government out of the private sector. Unfortunately, my opponent supports every one of Washington’s job-killing policies and would be a rubber-stamp for Washington’s tax-and-spend agenda that is destroying Ohio’s chances for real economy recovery.”
