SSCC financial aid workshops offered in January

      In recognition of Financial Aid Awareness Month, Southern State Community College will host several financial aid workshops to assist families with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
      Southern State’s trained staff will give a presentation on the entire financial aid process and will be available to answer questions concerning this process. The following workshops are open to the public free of charge:
10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at SSCC’s South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, Sardinia;
10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at SSCC’s North Campus, 1850 Davids Drive, Wilmington;
10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at SSCC’s Fayette Campus, 1270 U.S. Route 62 SW, Washington Court House; and
2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at SSCC’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro, “College Goal Sunday” national event.
      A fifth financial aid workshop will be held at a regional high school with time, date and location to be announced later.
      Free help is also available online. At www.fafsa.ed.gov, “Help” buttons on every page of the online application will direct the user to additional assistance. Click the “Live Help” button to chat with a customer service representative directly online between the hours of 8 a.m. to 12 midnight.
