Southern State Singers to present March 13 spring concert

The Southern State Singers will present “A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That” spring concert 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, in Room 107 of Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will include a wide variety of music, from Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” to “Wondrous Love” and “Barbara Allen.”
It also will feature a medley of “Day-O,” “Island in the Sun,” “Jamaica Farewell” and “Try to Remember,” as well as a medley of Stephen Foster songs.
Guests will further enjoy the folk song “The Turtle Dove,” “Fields of Gold” and, from The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, “May It Be.”
The Southern State Singers is a choral group comprised of students of Southern State Community College as well as members of the community. The group is directed by John Glaze; Mindy Lee performs as accompanist.
