Snowplow drivers working to clear routes;
Several local schools closed again Wednesday
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 have been working through the overnight and will continue their efforts throughout the day to clear the state highway system.
Currently, primary and secondary routes throughout the District 9 area remain snow covered this morning, with conditions slightly improved in the driving lane of four-lane routes. Periods of intermittent snow, as well as blowing and drifting snow, however, continue to keep roadways covered.
Several area schools are closed Wednesday, Jan. 12, including Hillsboro City Schools, Bright Local, Fairfield Local and Eastern Brown. Check our delays and closings link for updates.

Speed & Distance – The faster you’re going, the longer it will take you to stop; e xcessive speed continues to be one of the leading factors for crashes in ice and snow.
Brake – Brake early, brake slowly and brake correctly; never slam on your brakes.
Vision – Be aware of what’s going on well ahead of you; actions by other drivers will alert you to problems more quickly.
